Our Application Procedure

Each application for admission is assessed individually. Village Montessori reserves the right to place children in order to maintain balanced classes with respect to number of children, their ages, sex, individual needs, and compatibility with the Montessori philosophy.

 

Acceptance priority as follows. returning students; staff children; siblings of current students, waitlisted students in order of application submittal.

 

In order to begin the application process, the following must be submitted to Village Montessori:

  • Completed and signed application form
  • Non-refundable application fee of CI$250.00
  • Most recent report card / school report if applicable
  • A copy of any special reports, i.e. Individualized Education Plan (IEP) if applicable
  • Full face photograph of your child
  • Health Screening Certificate (for children age five and above)
  • Immunization Records

*No Application will be considered without all the above documents submitted.

Acceptance:

Upon notice of acceptance, parents/guardians will be required to sign an enrollment contract and secure placement with a deposit of one month’s tuition is due. This deposit will be applied towards your first month’s tuition and annual fees invoice. Please note that unless otherwise agreed this fee is non-refundable. Acceptance is determined by the child’s developmental readiness for our Montessori programs and by the parents understanding of the Montessori approach.

Village Montessori accepts all students on a case-by-case basis, initially on a probationary period of six weeks. In addition, children with additional needs will be considered on an individual basis.

Depending on age of the child, Village Montessori may require the child to come in for an observation day and testing.

Once a child is accepted the following forms and one month’s tuition as a deposit will be due as per the dates specified.

  • Chef’s Garden Permission Form
  • Camana Bay Permission Form
  • Emergency Contact Form

Waiting List:

When a class is full and a place is not immediately available, applicants will be advised by email and placed in our waiting pool. You will be contacted as and when a space becomes available for your child.

Withdrawal:

All withdrawals must be in writing.

If a student is withdrawn before December 31st of the academic year, tuition of one month will be due. If a student is withdrawn after December 31st of the academic year, tuition for the remainder of the school year will be due. Please refer to our Enrolment Contract for full details of our withdrawal policy.

A child withdrawn for illness, vacations or any other reason will lose his/her space unless tuition payments are continued during the period of the child’s absence, unless otherwise agreed upon.

It is only logical that a child must walk if he is to do this. Democracy begins at birth. The child must know what is going to happen to him, that he will not be seized suddenly, that his permission will be asked first. We must respect the child and he must understand that he is respected.

Admission FAQs

Children can typically start Village Montessori programs as early as 18 months to 3 years old. Village Montessori programs often span from infancy through elementary and even into middle school.

Yes, Village Montessori School typically have an application process that includes submitting an application form, providing relevant documents, and attending an interview.

Village Montessori has specific requirements such as age guidelines and may conduct informal observations to assess a child’s readiness for their program.

Village Montessori have limited class sizes to maintain a low student-to-teacher ratio, so it’s advisable to apply well in advance to secure a spot.

Village Montessori is inclusive and work with children of varying abilities. It’s important to discuss your child’s specific needs with us to ensure the right fit.

The admission process for older Montessori levels may include more detailed evaluations, interviews, and assessments to ensure a good match for the child.

Prior Montessori experience is not usually a requirement for admission. Montessori schools are open to children from various educational backgrounds.

The admission process often begins well in advance, sometimes a year or more before the intended start date, so early planning is advisable.

Tuition & Fees

Following are the fees and tuition for Village Montessori. Although our tuition is based annually from August to June, we do offer the below payment options for your convenience. Please remember that you are contractually obligated for tuition for the entire school year regardless of your child’s attendance and/or early withdrawal. Please see the Enrolment Contract for the terms of our withdrawal policy.

 A onetime Application Fee of $250 is due when application is submitted.
▪ A month’s tuition is due on acceptance to secure space. Failure to submit the enrolment contract along with the deposit will result in your spot being offered to another candidate.
NEW STUDENTS – A deposit of one month’s tuition
RETURNING STUDENTS – A deposit of CI $600.00
▪ An Annual Capital Fee of CI $500 is due by June 1st before the start of the new school year and is not prorated.
▪ All siblings will receive a 5% discount on fees
