Every day at Village Montessori, we are fortunate to guide children who are engaged in joyful and meaningful work. As Dr. Maria Montessori said, “The education of even a small child does not aim at preparing him for school but for life,” and at Village Montessori we embrace this sentiment as a core value.
Our nurturing and competent team of educators are eager to cultivate a love of learning in your child from their toddler through elementary years utilizing the Whole Child Approach, which includes the 5 Planes of Developmental: cognitive, social, emotional, physical and spiritual.

Our Mission Statement
Our Mission is to foster a strong sense of community and respect for self, others, and the environment in an inclusive and nurturing setting. We aim to provide the children with an opportunity to develop independence in a creative, educational environment and foster a lifelong love of learning.
Our Goal
Our Goal at Village Montessori is to assist children in developing the skills, knowledge, and attitudes to become productive members of their community. Our environment fosters children to be respectful of themselves, others, and their surroundings. We have created an enriched learning environment and employ certified teachers who want to work collaboratively with parents to achieve this.
Our History
The owners of Village Montessori spent over six years evaluating the market and researching best practices in early childhood development, early childhood curriculums as well as local legal requirements and children’s enrichment and entertainment before opening their doors. Village Montessori and Starfish Village have an in-depth understanding of the island, parent expectations, children needs and target market. The owners, leadership and staff bring over twenty years of early childhood educational experience and over twenty years of operational and senior management expertise to the school.
Village Montessori is a fully licensed private school, prides itself on being a unique and innovative environment where we believe in inclusion, culture, respect and a sense of community. Starfish Village started out as a children’s enrichment centre, a pre-school and start up Montessori in September 2014 with 16 children. In the past five years we have grown to a student body of over 85, expanding to offer a Toddler (18 months to 3 years), Casa (ages 3-6 years old) and Lower Elementary Programme (ages 6-9 years old) and this year the first Upper Elementary class ( ages 9-12).

Our classrooms are spacious and well-organized, with a diverse array of Montessori materials that cater to various age groups. These materials are carefully selected to engage students in concrete, hands-on experiences that promote understanding and mastery of concepts in subjects ranging from math and language to practical life skills.
Natural light floods into our classrooms, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for learning. The furniture is child-sized and ergonomic, encouraging students to be independent and take responsibility for their space.
In addition to well-equipped classrooms, Village Montessori school boasts outdoor spaces designed to inspire curiosity and a connection to nature. These outdoor environments provide opportunities for physical activity, gardening, and exploration, aligning with Maria Montessori’s belief in the importance of the outdoor world in a child’s education.
At Village Montessori school we also place a strong emphasis on creating a peaceful and respectful atmosphere. Each classroom has a dedicated space for quiet reflection and concentration, promoting mindfulness and emotional well-being.
